Removable Insulation Covers
Removable covers offer flexibility for insulating spaces around movable components that might otherwise go un-insulated. They allow for heat retention while still allowing the valve, steam trap, etc. to be serviced and inspected as necessary.
Common Applications
Removable insulators are also well-suited for replacing asbestos mats, millboard and refractory paper. Materials for today’s removable insulation covers include 100% fiberglass, or ceramic fiber and silicone coated cloth.

Removable Insulation Cover Properties
- Service temperature up to 1,200F (in case the GLT Tempmat). Up to 500 F for the Alpha Maritex Style 1700-S
- UV resistance up to 1,000 hours without change in tensile strength (in case of Alpha Maritex Style 1700-S)
- Good fire resistance (GLT Tempmat is non combustible)
