OVUHS in Brandon, VT had a challenge. The insulation on one of their sewer lines had become waterlogged and wasn’t providing a sufficient r-value. The result was that the pipe froze and burst, something no school wants to deal with in the middle of the school year. To prevent the heat traced pipe from freezing again, NCMI insulated and jacketed the system.
NCMI boxed in the large flanges that had previously caused the system to fail, preventing a potential issue in the future. We utilized Polyisocyanurate insulation, a moisture resistant, high r-value insulation with low environmental impact.
